'She cannot be trusted': Wary daughter refuses to give her baby's birth certificate to her mother so she can open a bank account for him, suspects an attempt at fraud

Everyone seems to have at least one relative who severely lacks respect or awareness for boundaries. Now, we've all heard of entitled people using family members' homes as free hotels or expecting discounts from their artistically talented relatives. While annoying, these are pretty tame instances of boundary-crossing. But what do you do when a family member starts feeling entitled to your official documents?

One woman is dealing with a mom who suddenly wants to open a bank account "for the baby"… except she only wants a picture of the birth certificate, refuses to take no for an answer, and has rallied the siblings to shame her when she pushes back. Never mind that the kid already has a proper savings account set up. Never mind that no legitimate bank is opening accounts off a blurry iPhone snap of a vital document. This mom's reasoning is only looking sketchier by the minute, leading the boy's mom to suspect an attempt at fraud.
